On Saturday and Sunday, the ASPCA assisted in a multi-state, federal dog fighting raid in Missouri, Kansas and Texas at the request of the FBI, the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and in conjunction with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.A search warrant was executed Saturday night in Kansas after the FBI raided a location suspected of holding a contract dog fight in north Texas. The ASPCA, with the help of local agencies, assisted in the seizure of the dogs. Two additional warrants were served Sunday morning, resulting in the removal of the dogs in Missouri.
The ASPCA, under the direction of the FBI, is assisting in collecting forensic evidence. We’ll have more information on these resilient dogs soon, but for now: Know that these dogs are finally safe, and that we are doing our utmost to stop these dog fighters and perpetrators of this cruel “sport” everywhere.
If you’re considering contributing to the ASPCA, now is a great time to give. Please help us care for these animals in need today, as well as those who will need us tomorrow, next month and next year.
